Been reading a bit about medical ethics

I personally think that the medical authorities have no right to force someone to a medical treatment, especially as in the case for this 13 year old girl. She's been living with the disease all her life so I'm pretty certain she knows more about her condition than the doctors (yes doctors know more about diagnostic and those side of things, but when it comes to psychosocial elements, I'm sure patients know more!)
As someone who's been living in trauma through all her life by all the chemo and medication, as someone who is diagnosed leukemia and with a heart defect, I think all medical procedures should have informed consent from the patient him/herself. Indeed although the heart transplant can be life-saving and -prolonging, but for the child, it's a difficult move for her to make. Furthermore, it's so high risk, so the child should have the power of judgment whether to receive/decline the treatment.
